Would Look elsewhere before booking here....

Old Building, Rooms run down & outdated for the price we paid. Not much security once office is closed for the evening, House keeping ??? sheets were Freshly laundered on the masterbed BUT had stains on them. Couches were very very old. Was billed before check out. Due to other guests doing a runner a few weeks before.

Darwin What can we say!!!!! It was Hot Hot & Hot. Worth a visit to Berry Springs, mindil Markets on Sunday has everything. WWII displays around Darwin were worth a look, Lunch on the Docks worth a visit.

Value Inn. Reviewed: July 2009. #2363

The Value Inn offers reasonably priced accommodation during Darwin's peak season. It is well situated in Mitchell Street, just a few steps from a supermarket and many resturants, bars etc. Accommodation offered is of the "no frills" variety. The Inn is surprisingly quiet considering its location. It was clean and well presented.

Darwin is well worth a visit! It has much to offer. We particularly enjoyed the Museum, and sunset drinks at Fanny Bay. It would be great if Mindl Beach markets were held more than twice a week. We've missed them on both our visits.

A great start to the Kakadu holiday

We arrived in Darwin late afternoon, picked up a rental car and drove straight to Aurora. Our first impression was that we had arrived at a camping place, as the reception area was hard to see from the road. However, the villas were air conditioned clean and quiet. The bed was wonderfully comfortable. After walking to the billabong and seeing a beautiful sunset, we had buffet dinner at the restaurant.

This was a highlight! The food was terrific, relaxed and the dinning room was well presented and yet relaxed. In the morning, I enjoyed a relaxing swim in the impeccably clean pool. As it is really impossible to swim in natural swimming holes at this time of the year (April) because of the presents of crocodiles, a well cared for pool was much appreciated. After just one night, we felt like our city stress had washed away and the holiday had begun in earnest! Well done!

One highlight: Ubirr mid afternoon to see rock art in good light, then a break at the Bowral info centre to see "the Big Wet" (1 hour film), then back to Ubirr to climb the rock at sunset.

Second highlight: Lemon bitters at the hotel before Yellow river cruise at 4:30 - plenty of crocs and a gorgous sunset again.

The restaurant was great.

We requested a cot to be in the room but it was not there and the room smelt musty from the air conditioner and the vent was mouldy, but other than that the restuarant was great and the service was good.

The fish feeding was good but it was far too hot. Would recommend indoor activities for this time of year. Casuarina square was great, lots of good shops.
